About Wei
Wei studied economics at Wharton, earned an MBA from Chicago Booth, spent five years on Goldman’s semiconductor + cloud research team, and four years on Bridgewater’s associate research staff. She founded Anchorbay in 2018 because the families she actually cared about — friends and former coworkers post-IPO — could never get a research-grade investment process at the big shops without writing a $50M check first.
The Path
Wharton ’08 (Economics, with concentrations in Finance and Statistics). Booth MBA ’14 (Analytic Finance, Economics).
Five years on the equity research team covering semiconductors and cloud infrastructure. Charterholder since 2012.
Four years on the associate research staff working on macro factor portfolios and risk-parity overlays. Learned how a real research process is run.
Registered the RIA in San Francisco. Built Anchorbay around the families post-IPO and post-acquisition that institutional research had previously ignored.
Wei is a CFA charterholder and a member of CFA Society San Francisco, the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), and the Investment Adviser Association. Anchorbay is a fiduciary investment adviser registered with the SEC under file number 801-114620.
Recognition for sub-$500M RIAs with disciplined, research-led portfolio construction. Anchorbay was cited for its Investment Policy Statement framework and quarterly attribution practice.
Selected partner for Clockless’s concierge investment-manager program, serving tech-industry families through their first liquidity event and beyond.
A six-person boutique. Wei is lead PM on every account; the rest of the team carries portfolio operations, manager research, and client reporting so that the partner you start with is the partner you stay with.
No allocation moves before the Investment Policy Statement is signed. The IPS is the contract; the trades are the implementation.
Each family gets a private portal with positions, performance, IPS, manager memos, and reports — so nothing about your money lives in a stale email thread.
Every external manager and every co-invest opportunity gets a written underwriting memo. We share the memo with you before we deploy a dollar.
Whether you’re six months from a tender, just past an IPO lockup, or a year into wondering ‘what now,’ it starts with a conversation.
